This is my first of a weekly blog series I am beginning. I will be posting weekly studio updates, sharing finished pieces, works in progress, show dates, and other news.
NEW WORK
I’ve had this painting floating around, unfinished for about 6 months and I finally decided to tackle it again. Sometimes when a painting is going so well, it is really difficult for me to pick up a brush and work on it again in fear that I will ruin it. Does anyone else have this problem?! It’s a silly reason not to work on a painting, especially because I finished it and I absolutely love it! I know artists should not fall in love with their own work – but I could not help it with this one.
“Pop” is a bit of a continuation of my Multiplicity series, with a little bit of a new style: using thicker paint and less defined forms.
I have also completed this mountain scene from Big Bend – Santa Elena Canyon. Fun fact about this canyon: one side is Mexico and one side is the U.S. My mountain paintings are becoming friends – I love that all the paintings from this series look good grouped together.
Santa Elena will be available for purchase online soon – keep a lookout!
**UPDATES: THESE THREE PAINTINGS SOLD***
